Notes:
. Register your names at the jumpoff point before leaving for Anawangin cove.
· No shower area or decent bathrooms. Just the bare essentials. Deep well pump (tubig poso) available and potable for the adventurous.
. There are picnic tables on some areas of the beach.
. As of March 2010, there is still no cellphone signal at Anawangin cove.
. Trail starts on sandy beach then on rocky terrain before it proceeds to the grassy trail. It then ends on another stretch of rocky terrain (river trail) before you hit the beach cove
· Open trail (No foliage)
. The trail bypasses the river system, so be cautious of flash floods when it's rainy
· The beach is surrounded by Agoho trees (they resemble pine trees)! Clean lahar sands (volcanic ash) and beach water

Options:
, You can take other bus companies passing through San Antonio town, but Victory Liner has more scheduled trips coming from Manila. You can catch a San Antonio trip from their Pasay (EDSA), Espana or Caloocan (Taft) terminals.
· Taking a private car will reduce travel time by about 30 mins. Park (at your own risk) at the barangay hall or a beach resort in San Antonio.
· Capones island side trip is optional. You can take it out of the itinerary if you just want to chill by the beach and go home early.
. You may also add another day for island hopping altogether
. You may tweak this itinerary if you wish to spend the night at the beach; Trekking time may take longer since you'll be bringing a heavier backpack
· You can opt to have your packs brought to the cove ahead of time- arrange this with your boat man. It will reduce trek time by 2 hours.
. If you wish to spend more time in the Zambales area, I suggest booking in Olongapo or Subic town center, because it's close but cheaper than hotels in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
. Contact me if you want to join a guided package trip to Anawangin.

  1. Hi there, I have just read your blog about the trips you've made all over the Philippines and I find it informative and downright amazing. I'm particularly interested on the Anawangin cove trip, I'm not sure if you're offering any tours on the said location but can you at least point me where I can avail one. I am not really the outdoorsy-type, as a matter of fact this will be my first and will be doing it alone. Do you happen to have any scheduled trip on the coming weeks for that location and would you be so kind to include me in your group? Please hit me back with the details and requirements. I was hoping to do a little trip before I leave for the States on the 27th. Hope to hear from you. God Bless.
